Pero, surge la pregunta: \u00bfrealmente son tan &#8220;super&#8221; estos alimentos y qu\u00e9 los diferencia significativamente de otras opciones en nuestras dietas? En este art\u00edculo nos sumergimos en las caracter\u00edsticas esenciales de los superalimentos y c\u00f3mo se distinguen de otros t\u00e9rminos relacionados con la nutrici\u00f3n.<\/p>\n<p>Es importante comenzar destacando que el t\u00e9rmino \u201csuperalimentos\u201d (Superfoods en ingl\u00e9s) no es utilizado por la comunidad cient\u00edfica; m\u00e1s bien, su origen radica en estrategias de marketing y ventas (Mora, 2023). En la ciencia, generalmente se emplea el nombre de los componentes que contienen este tipo de alimentos como pueden ser los antioxidantes, vitaminas, micro y macro nutrientes, amino\u00e1cidos, entre otros (Crespo, 2022). Entonces, \u00bfqu\u00e9 hace que llamemos a un alimento &#8220;s\u00faper&#8221;? Existe una l\u00ednea delgada y algo difusa, generalmente se acepta que un superalimento se caracteriza por:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li>Poseer altos niveles nutricionales.<\/li>\n<li>Ofrecer potenciales beneficios para la salud.<\/li>\n<li>Aliado con la prevenci\u00f3n de enfermedades o sus respectivos tratamientos.<\/li>\n<li>Recuperar la importancia cultural y tradicional de la regi\u00f3n.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>El inter\u00e9s en este tipo de alimentos generalmente proviene de personas que buscan una dieta saludable y equilibrada, una tendencia que ha aumentado a lo largo de los a\u00f1os. Considerando la cantidad de gente que vive y vivir\u00e1 en los siguientes a\u00f1os, estimando 10 billones de personas en 2050, los superalimentos pueden ser una alternativa a los problemas de seguridad alimentaria que se presentan (Stone, Tanaka &amp; Nickerson, 2019). De igual manera, el consumo de alimentos m\u00e1s consciente y responsable por parte de muchas personas nos ha llevado a buscar diferentes alternativas para nuestra dieta.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00bfY los Smartfoods?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Con la b\u00fasqueda de alternativas en nuestra alimentaci\u00f3n, surgi\u00f3 el concepto y tendencia de consumo de los alimentos inteligentes (Smartfoods en ingl\u00e9s), que a menudo se suele confundir con los superalimentos (Grando et al, 2022). A diferencia de estos, los smartfoods cumplen con criterios espec\u00edficos que benefician directamente a tres sectores:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Consumidores: proporcionando una nutrici\u00f3n saludable y beneficiosa.<\/li>\n<li>Medio ambiente: su producci\u00f3n es sostenible y responsable con el mismo.<\/li>\n<li>Agricultor: su cultivo o venta genera beneficios tangibles para el sector.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Ambos t\u00e9rminos suelen confundirse ya que tanto los superalimentos como los alimentos inteligentes brindan altos niveles nutricionales y ciertos beneficios a la salud del consumidor. Por lo tanto, en CRICK consideramos que nuestros productos son tanto Superfoods como Smartfoods.<\/p>\n<p>Por ejemplo, nuestros NACHOS, elaborados con prote\u00edna de grillo 100% molida, son una fuente rica de prote\u00ednas y amino\u00e1cidos. Los grillos son una buena fuente de prote\u00edna.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Para el medio ambiente: las granjas de grillos requieren menos espacio, reduciendo la necesidad de extensas \u00e1reas de cuidado y emiten hasta 10 veces menos gases de efecto invernadero a comparaci\u00f3n del ganado (Payne et al, 2015).<\/li>\n<li>Para las granjas de ambiente controlado: se utilizan menos recursos como el agua y al tratarse de granjas verticales se emplea menor \u00e1rea; donde, los grillos emplean aproximadamente 15 m2 mientras que las vacas requieren 200 m2.
